Salad Time by prominent-portraits

Firstly can I say wow?

I just did, this image is very well shot and the things in particular I like is the amount of detail captured in the image right down to seeing how much the reptile has had to drink (but looking how 'wet the tongue is)

The reptiles shell stands out as it's color is vivid and not lost in the picture even though it is not an immediate realization as I feel it's not the focal point of the picture rather the reptiles neck and head is which is well captured by the way.

I love how the lettuce seems so close to me by properly took a lot of effort from the reptile to get to and it still seems slightly too far away for it to chew off.

the thermostat? to the left is somewhat distracting me and is the only thing I would take out of this image even though it is out of focus the yellow and red of the ?thermostat stand out too much for me, If it did not have these colors on the thermostat and it was still in the picture I wouldn't have minded!

Lastly I love how the subject of the reptile food bowl and salad are in focus but the wall and things to the far left are not really adds depth to this photo.
The Artist thought this was FAIR

Thank you so much for your input. I agree that the thermostat is distracting and I probably could have re-positioned myself to avoid including it in the shot. I admit it is always very spontaneous with my little tortoise and photos. I run and grab my camera whenever I feel like she is being cute (which is quite often). Thanks again, I love hearing that other individuals like my photos of her as much as I do.

Yes I understand it was a very well captured shot & no time was given to set the scene as it were, glad you enjoyed my critique...I now want one of those tortoise's

She is a lot of fun. Though, when they are babies - be prepared to have to spend a lot of time with them. I have to spend several hours with her each day --- chopping up her food (not as fine as I used to have to do thankfully) and make sure she doesn't pick around all the healthy stuff only eating her favorites. They need an alternative diet like humans so giving pellets to them like you would dog food to puppy dogs would only cause their shell to pyramid due to lack of vitamins. I also have to make sure she gets enough heat and humidity, have to help her go potty... and etc etc. I can rant on and on about turtles. I've always loved having 'em.

50+ years if they have a good owner. Baby tortoises die all the time from uneducated pet owners. My girl is going to be a life long pet.
